Amy Beachy called home to glory

GOSHEN, IN -- Amy Ellen Miller Beachy, 67, of 506 Colorado St., died at 9:16 p.m. Monday (June 27, 2005) from injuries suffered in a car accident at Lombardy Drive and C.R. 38.
She was born March 10, 1938, in Elkhart County, to Anan E. and Alma (Miller) Miller. A lifelong area resident, she married Marvin Ray Beachy on April 10, 1961, at Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church.
He survives, along with three daughters, Catherine (Kenton) Yoder of New Paris, Margaret (Devon) Miller of Centreville, Mich., and Genevieve (Brian) Gerig of New Haven; one son, Jonathan (Rita) Beachy of Macon, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Miller of Goshen and Mary (Alvin) Miller of Middlebury; and three brothers, Raymond (Marie) Miller of Pisgah Forest, N.C., Amos Miller of Lakeland, Fla., and Willis Miller of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Elva Dean Miller, and her second mother, Lovina (Weaver) Miller.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen, with the Rev. Ben Shirk of Mount Joy Mennonite Church officiating. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.
A homemaker, she and her husband started Gospel Echoes in 1969, an organization that grew into a prison ministry in the United States and Canada.
She was a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church. An avid reader, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
